*General county commission meetings are held at 9 a.m. on the first & third Tuesdays every month unless otherwise noticed.

• Signing up before 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to a scheduled county commission  meeting will afford the speaker 5 minutes during one of the two public comment portions of the morning portion, which begins at 9 a.m.
  • Audio/video presentations will need to be reviewed by the Office of the County Attorney, or a delegate thereof, prior to being shown publicly.

• Signups are also accepted until 9 a.m. the day of the meeting at the McPherson Governmental Campus auditorium, 601 SE 25th Ave., Ocala.
  • This method will afford the speaker 2 minutes during one of the two public comment portions of the morning portion, which begins at 9 a.m.

 All Planning & Zoning Commission meetings are open to the public.

Planning & Zoning Commission meetings are held on the Monday before the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Should additional time be needed, the zoning portion will continue on the following Tuesday at 2 p.m.

To speak during a Planning & Zoning commission meeting, sign up the day of the meeting at the table in front of the entry to the McPherson Governmental Campus auditorium, 601 SE 25th Ave., Ocala.

• Signups for public comment for zoning agenda items afford speakers 2 minutes per speaker.

Submit a draft proclamation for review via email to PublicRelations@MarionFL.org, or deliver your draft proclamation to our office at 601 SE 25th Ave., Ocala.

Here are a few best practices for proclamations:

• Submit request submissions 45 days in advance of the meeting intended to announce the proclamation.
• Keep the proclamation to no more than five WHEREAS statements.
