The Golden Ocala development, that includes the World Equestrian Center (WEC), is a mixed-use development project including residential, commercial, & equestrian related facilities last approved in early 2020-2021.
What was discussed?
A proposed revision to change approximately 250 acres at the south end of the project along Southwest Highway 484 to enable the development of an indoor/outdoor sport fields & event facilities complex with related commercial development.
The property is within the urban growth boundary & adjacent to existing WEC-designated land, supporting connected, well-planned development rather than sprawl.
