NOTICE OF NEW & UPDATED MARION COUNTY EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IMPACT FEES
For All Areas of Marion County, Florida
The county commission adopted Ordinance 24-06 at their regularly scheduled meeting of March 5, 2024.
This ordinance established new & updated educational system impact fees in all unincorporated & incorporated areas of Marion County; provided that collection of county impact fees within municipalities will not occur until the county & the city have entered into an interlocal agreement.
These impact fees are imposed on all new construction & applies for a building permit on or after the dates specified below & will fund capital improvements & additions to Marion County Public Schools needed to serve new growth. The impact fees will be due & collected prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy at the rates specified below:

Notwithstanding the foregoing, if a building permit has been given a permit number prior to the effective date of the impact fee rates stated above, the customer will only be obligated to pay the fee that was in effect on the date the application for a building permit was submitted, as long as the permit remains valid through construction.
