Abandoned foreclosure property registration: Form

Affidavit of complaint violator: Form | Instructions

On Aug. 17, 2010, the county commission adopted county ordinance 10-19 regulating the maintenance of abandoned & vacant properties in foreclosure within the unincorporated geographical limits of Marion County, Florida.

County ordinance requires a mortgagee to register property with our office during the foreclosure process. The mortgagee must maintain any property within the foreclosure process.

We strive to partner with mortgagees on vacant properties to avoid declining property values. This cooperation can provide tremendous help to our communities.

All registrations require an annual registration fee of $125 per property &  the following information:

  • Owner or agent's phone number & mailing address within the state.
  • Certify that the property has been inspected.
  • Designate and retain an individual or property management company responsible for the security and maintenance of the property. This designation must state the individual or company name, phone number, & local address.
  • There are additional requirements for posting found in the county code of ordinances. Contact our office for further assistance.

All violations of the ordinance shall be presented to the Code Enforcement Advisory Board where fines may be levied.

If you have any questions, please contact Code Enforcement at 352-671-8900 or email us.
