Building Safety’s Private Provider Registry is now live as of March 23, 2026.

This new registry helps streamline the permitting process for citizens, contractors, and private providers using private plan review and/or inspection services.

 Benefits include:

• A more efficient permitting experience
• Reduced documentation requirements when submitting new permits that use Private Providers

 How to Register

  1. Visit https://permits.marionfl.org
  2. Select “Apply Without Assistance”
  3. Search for “Private Provider Registry”
  4. Click “Apply” and follow the steps to complete your registration

• Duly Authorized Representative Employment Information for the Private Provider and all inspectors and plan reviewers
• Resumes or Qualification Statements for the Private Provider and all inspectors and plan reviewers

 Once Registered

To add a Private Provider to a permit, only the following documents will be needed:
– Notice to Building Official
– Private Provider Plan Review Compliance Affidavit (when applicable)

You may upload these with the initial permit application in Civic Access or email them afterward to buildingsafetyforms@marionfl.org.

Additional process notes:

• To add a Private Provider for inspections to an already issued permit, send the Notice to Building Official to buildingsafetyforms@marionfl.org
• Inspection notifications, inspection results, and Certificates of Compliance should also be emailed to the same address

The Private Provider Registry is an important step toward modernizing and streamlining Marion County’s permitting process. We’re actively working on future system enhancements to further improve efficiency and will share updates as they become available.
